Hometowns: Arlington, Virginia (Emma) and Houston, Texas (Claire)
Show: “Lazy Confessions” on Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m.
Describe your show’s vibe in 3 words:
Emma – “Chill … ummm … I don’t know. It’s a good time. That’s four words.”
Claire – “Chill vibes emission.”
Explain your show’s title.
Emma – “It’s a name of a Moldy Peaches song. And the Moldy Peaches are like the anti-folk band that Kimya Dawson was in. And I named it that cause it’s not too long and the idea is that we would like to play songs that are kinda like the mood we are in. So in playing that music you’re almost making a confession about how you’re feeling. And we’re lazy.”
What’s your favorite band?
Emma – “That’s hard. I really love Waxahatchee. She’s releasing a new album.”
Claire – “Tough question … I’ll pick three: Tallest Man on Earth, Beyoncé, and Black Lips, in no particular order.”
And what genre [are those]?
Claire – “I don’t think there’s an overarching theme there … folk, pop-y R&B, and lo-fi rock?”
Emma – “Genre is such a confusing thing. She’s like low-fi DIY alternative rock, I guess.”
What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Claire – “I saw the Avett Brothers at the Austin City Limits Music Festival and that was a lot of fun. Joe Kwon is my role model.”
Emma – “I went to a Marina and the Diamonds [concert]. That was really fun. I saw Grace Potter and the Nocturnals at the first music festival I ever went to and that was amazing.”
Choose a song that describes you or your personal anthem.
Emma – “‘The Dreamer’ by The Tallest Man on Earth.”
Claire – “‘Two Weeks’ by Grizzly Bear.”
What’s a crazy fact about you?
Emma – “I can tie a cherry string into a knot in my mouth.”
Claire – “My beta fish Yoncé has a fake crocodile skull in his tank.”
